A painting by Bevart, this painting is reminiscent of sunny afternoons sitting by the turquoise pools in Castril, a small traditional village in Andalusia, Southern Spain. Painted in my studio using a mixed media approach, to include cold wax, oil paints and gold leaf. I use a variety of materials to create my decorative art works. This painting was created after a visit to Granada and Baza in Andalusia southern Spain. I was inspired by the beautiful waterfalls, lagoons and turquoise pools in the Castril gorge.
I use a cold wax process, this is softened then add paints, acrylic and oils. I repeat this process layering up all the time. I then use tools to make embedded marks then cure using a heat process. When I’m happy with the colour ways and marks I finish using gold leaf. The whole painting is then sealed with an artists varnish to preserve and protect.
