Description

‘Dusk’ a painting by Beverley Chapelhow is inspired by the late summer sun reflecting on buildings from the surround villages in the Ribble Valley where I live. I use a variety of materials to create my decorative art works. “Dusk” was created in my studio;  I love golden sunsets, orange glowing reflections and navy blue skies.
I use wax that is softened then add paints, acrylic and oils. I repeat this process layering up all the time. I then use tools to make embedded marks then cure using a heat process. When I’m happy with the colour ways and marks, I finish using gold leaf. The whole painting is then sealed with an artists varnish to preserve and protect.
